SabreSeal FRA Fire-Rated Acrylic Sealant 300ml Cartridge - Box of 25
SabreSeal FRA is a water-based acrylic fire retardant sealant that provides movement capability for fire-rated joint applications. In suitably designed joints, it has a fire-rating of up to 4 hours according to AS1530.4:2014. SabreSeal FRA also has the additional benefit of containing acoustic properties for sound deadening applications. It is an ideal acrylic sealant for commercial and residential buildings.

Preparation
• Substrate surface must be dry and clean; free of dirt, grease, oil, or standing water.
• For a neat finishing, use masking tape and remove it within the working time.
• For sealant designs with depth of over 10 mm, use approved backing materials.
Application Direction
1 Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dirt, grease, oil or water.
2 Surfaces should be cleaned with alcohol, M.E.K. or other suitable solvent. Do not use soap or detergent.
3 For a neat finish, apply masking tape and remove it before sealant skins over.
4 Cut nozzle at 45° angle to desire bead-width and apply to substrate with cartridge gun.
5 Tool the sealant within 10 minutes of extrusion before it skins.
6 Allow to dry for one hour before applying waterbased paint and 24 hours for oil-based paint.
7 Uncured sealant can be cleaned up with damp cloth.
Joint Design
• The specified sealant bead size should be calculated to comply with the compression and extension capabilities of the sealant in relation to the anticipated joint width due to expansion and contraction.
• Minimum bead size should not be less than 3 mm to accommodate movement.
• Sealant design joint width-to-depth ratio should be 2:1.
Clean Up
• Wet sealants can be cleaned up with water.
• Cured sealants can only be removed mechanically.

Store in a dry and cool place with temperature below 30 °C. (Do not store below 5 °C)
Limitations
• Not recommended for continuous water emersion and not for PE, PP, Teflon and bituminous surfaces.
• Painting over with highly filled emulsion paints can cause cracks in paint film.
Caution
Contains a mixture of CMIT/MIT. May produce an allergic reaction. Causes serious eye irritation. Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection/hearing protection. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice. Keep out of reach of children. Delivery and Delivery Charges
Hardware & Handles NZ Ltd uses a $9.75 freight charge for all guest checkout orders within New Zealand.
For oversized items, please email [email protected] for order and shipping costs.
For trade customers freight will be calculated and added after checkout.
Delivery times vary depending on the destination, but the vast majority of all our orders have reached our New Zealand customers within 1-3 business days of order.
Orders made by customers for delivery addresses outside New Zealand will not immediately be charged; we will instead collect the details of your order and get in touch with you to confirm delivery charges for your order to your country.
Returns
Because we pride ourselves on the speed of our delivery and do our utmost to despatch your order as soon as we possibly can, it is not possible to cancel or alter your order once it has been confirmed. However, once you have received your goods, we are happy to exchange them for you if you have changed your mind. For the purposes of such exchanges:
The goods being exchanged must be returned to Hardware & Handles NZ Ltd in the original, unopened condition.
Goods you get as a replacement must be of the same or lower value than the original purchase.
You must meet all postage costs for both the return of your original purchase as well as the despatch of the replacement goods.
Customers have the right to return any goods deemed faulty or damaged in transit for a replacement. The following conditions apply terms returned in these circumstances:
- Where goods are being returned due to a fault or damage, they must be in original condition.
- Where return is due to a fault, the customer must contact Hardware & Handles NZ Ltd within 7 days of receiving the product.
- Damaged items must not be signed for at the time of delivery and must be rejected - a new replacement will be sent as soon as possible.
Hardware & Handles NZ Ltd will cover the freight costs involved for the return and replacement of any faulty or defective goods.
